Summer Exhibition - Cornucopia

Our selection of work for this summer brings together a wide range of styles and techniques.
In two of the gallery rooms paintings and original prints by figurative and abstract artists. Landscapes by the Cornish based artist Richard Tuff, Karolina Larusdottir's haunting lithographs and William Clayton's trompe-l'œil oil painting. Abstract work includes original prints by Terry Frost and Alan Davie. Examples of work by artists based in the North of England include Jacquie Denby, Katharine Holmes, David Cook and Milan Ivanic. Spotlight Exhibition
Charlotte Hodes 

Charlotte is Professor of Fine Art at London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London. Her work in this exhibition is inspired by the 19th-century publication The Grammar of Ornament (1856) by the architect and designer Owen Jones.

 A distinguished artist, she was appointed first Associate Artist at the Wallace Collection, London from 2005-2007 and winner of the Jerwood Drawing Prize in 2006.

Solo exhibitions include: The Grammar of Ornament: Paper cuts & Ceramics Jaggedart, London. Silhouettes & Filigree Marlborough Fine Art London. Fragmented Images Wallace Collection, London.

Her work is represented in many public collections including: Birmingham City Art Gallery, British Council, New Hall Art Collection Cambridge ( now Murray Edwards College ) Potteries Museum and Art Gallery Staffordshire and the Victoria and Albert Museum.

As a student she studied at the Slade School under the Professorship of Lawrence Gowing, and was a student of Paula Rego, Stanley Jones and John Hoyland.
