2020

Acrylic on canvas

Framed 74 x 94 cm

Painting of the famous Long Man of Wilmington. A hill figure cut on the slopes of Windover Hill near Wilmington Sussex. It is now believed to have been cut in the 16th or 17th century. Although this image is not included in the current exhibition at Low Wood Bay, it is included in this online exhibition as an example of Milan’s response to the chalk cliffs of East Sussex on the English Channel coast. Before settling in the north of England, Milan lived in a number of locations
including Sussex. He produced a body of work in response to the
landscape of the South Downes and chalk cliffs of the south coast.
