Katharine Holmes – Landscape Paintings & Ink Drawings – This exhibition can be viewed on the Exhibition Pages of this website, and at Low Wood Bay.

The two women artists who feature in the current Gavagan Art Exhibition in the Atrium exhibition at Low Wood Bay have close connections with the Craven Area of North Yorkshire, an area with in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The distinctive limestone landscape has inspired and attracted artists for hundreds of years.

Katharine Holmes (b. 1962) Is best known for her paintings and drawings of her native Yorkshire landscape. A graduate of the University of Newcastle upon Tyne she returned in 1990 to live and work in the Yorkshire Dales. She paints outside in all weathers and currently works from her studio at the Malham cottage where her mother and grandmother lived and painted before her.

Anna Adams 1926 -2011 –  Ceramics, paintings and poetry books.  Work by Anna is displayed in the ceramics case in the Atrium at Low Wood Bay. Anna Adams was born in London in 1926. She was educated at Harrow Art School, and Hornsey College of Art, and worked as a designer, a freelance artist and art teacher. In later years she devoted the greater part of her creative energies to writing.
