Since July 2020 clients have purchased paintings, original prints, drawings and ceramics after having seen work on our website or in our email newsletters.
Initially we were able to allow work to be collected from the gallery or other locations. We have since the national lockdown in January 2021 used reliable art transporters to deliver larger works and Royal Mail special delivery for smaller items. As the gallery is currently closed we have put together in this online exhibition examples of work which visitors would be able to see in the gallery.

Work from Cambridgeshire
Gavagan Art exhibits work from all over Britain. Two artists from Cambridgeshire, ceramic glaze expert Stephen Murfitt and painter, Terry Beard regularly show and images of their artwork can be viewed further down this page. Terry has recently received two art awards from The London Invitational Art Contest and The Cass Art Award.
As well as the temporary exhibitions programme a varied range of paintings prints and ceramics are always on display. Included in the images below are original prints by Royal Academicians – John Bellany 1942 -2013 and Albert Irvin 1922 -2015. There are other works also available by these two artists.
In 2018 an exhibition was held of a representative body of ceramics by Edward Hughes (1953 – 2006) together with work by potter James Hake. Images can be seen below of a sample of the work available by Edward. Examples of his ceramics can be seen in the Victoria and Albert Museum London and the Ashmolean Museum Oxford.
In recent years a number of exhibitions have been held of wood engravings. One artist who specialised in this form of print was Kenneth Craddock born 1911. Originally from Bolton, he was Principal of Hereford College of Art throughout the 1960s. He had previously worked as an illustrator for the Manchester Guardian. Influenced and inspired by Eric Ravilious and Edward Bawden his wood engravings, a number of which are illustrated below, recall the nineteen fifties.
