Island Paintings - & Other Works
The first exhibiton of the 2012 exhibition season at Settle's Linton Court Gallery
was a solo show of work by Chris Rigby.
Chris Rigby, winner of the Open up North exhibition in Kendal, 2011,
presented a selection of his paintings in April.
The exhibition had the title Island Paintings & Other Works - 10 April - 19 May and included many works which have not previously been exhibited.
Chris paints the landscape of the islands of Shetland, Ireland and Tresco, in both watercolour
and oil, inspired by the wild and dramatic coastal scenery.
These islands featured in the exhibition together with paintings depicting the landscape of the North of England.
Chris often exhibits in Falmouth Cornwall where he studied illustration at Falmouth School of Art.
He frequently visits the South West of England and has produced a body of work of the remote island of Tresco on the Isles of Scilly.
